Today was a beautiful day and we thought it would be a great day for apple picking. Unfortunately, everyone and their mother had the same idea! Although the ride to the orchard was loooong (especially with a crying Zoey in the backseat: she does not take kindly to car rides these days...), we had a great time over there. The kids played on the playground, got their face painted, we had lunch, visited the boutique and went apple picking, of course! Now we have more apples than we would ever need!

We went to Erin's to celebrate Parker's 3rd birthday (already, really?!) Zoey has refused to be with anyone other than Mommy for over 2 months now; even Daddy wont do. She'll cry/scream bloody murder until I come back. Even if it's hours. Yes, hours. So it was nice to see them bonding and laughing together today!

Keith got tickets to see the Habs play in pre-season. He decided to go with Kira since Sean had his turn last year. We told Kira they would leave at 6, so she kept a watchful eye on the time! She had fun, but found it quite long. They left after the second period. When I asked her what she liked best about her evening, she said: "When I had 2 hot dogs and Sprite and when the good guys scored. Oh, and I loved going out with Daddy!"

Ever since we discovered this new playground 3 days ago, we've been every day. Today it was just the girls, with Keith at work and Sean at school. Most of the time was spent in the swings, Kira's favorite part of going to the park. She can swing on the big swings, but it was easier for me to push them like this. Zoey even fell asleep while swinging :)

We went for a walk late-afternoon the opposite way we usually go. We found that there is a new playground only 5 minutes from our place! So we stopped there for a while. The kids were thrilled! Zoey went in the swings for the first time and she loved it (even though it doesn't look it here!)

I get infections in my right earlobe with most earrings, so I rarely change them. The other day, I decided I needed a change for a day. When Kira saw me, she was in awe. I think she didn't realize she could change them! She asked if she could wear some of mine for a while. So she did for couple of days. And then she asked if she could get some of her own. We went to the store and she fell in love with these purple butterflies :)

Keith had to go to work this morning (he very rarely has to go in on the w/e, but it happens...), but he got back for lunch. We decided to go out for burgers and hot dogs, and then the kids asked if we could go to Toys R Us. We made it clear that we weren't buying any toys, and then we headed there. The kids loved looking around. We got a few ideas for birthdays and Christmas. Kira loved trying out princess shoes, she's modeling them for her father :) I am pretty sure she'll be getting some for her birthday, she looked so happy!

Kira spent a good part of her day learning how to jump rope. By the end of the day, she had mastered it. She loved the fact that Zoey laughed out loud when she saw her sister jumping!

When Keith got home, I headed out to Costco to pick up my new glasses. I knocked my old ones off my side table the other day and they broke. I like the new ones much better, so it's all good (except for the fact that we had to spend money we hadn't planned on spending...)

After that, I went to Scrapbook Centrale for an evening of scrapping with JJ and Erin. Now that Keith is done playing softball, I get my Fridays back :) Too bad that Zoey cried the entire time I was gone, or almost...

Today was a looong day! Zoey made me pay for leaving last night by being grumpy all day.

There was a bright spot in my day. As you know, Sean loves Legos, so I surprised him by giving him a new mini figure. I put it in his lunch box so he'd find it at school. When he got off the school bus, he hugged me and said: "Thank you Mommy, you're the best!" Love my boy!

In the evening, I attended at parent/teacher meeting at Sean's school. I always love that first meeting where you can see how the teacher works and you can have an idea of who they are. I like her, I think she'll be great for Sean.

Obviously, this is not my own pic, lol! I wanted to bring my camera to the theater but forgot it, so this'll have to do.

A few months ago, JJ, Erin and I made a date to go see Fright Night when it came out. We finally managed to do that tonight. I haven't seen the original, so I can't compare, but what I cared about was seeing the 10th Doctor himself, David Tennant! Yup, I'm a fan :)

Too bad Keith was stuck at home with a baby who screamed the whole time... She wants nothing to do with him, or anyone else for that matter, unless they have my boobs. It's sad, really, because he never has a calm moment with her, she cries all the time. I'm not exaggerating. It's exhausting and stressful.

Keith was off work today because of Labour Day, which was very nice. We decided to go to St-Hubert with Joe (Keith's best friend), his wife Antoinette and their kids, Melissa and Gabriel. After 30 minutes of waiting for our food, the waitress told us there was a group of 40 in the back, so things were a bit slow. Okay. Fine. After an hour wait, still no food. The "big group" excuse did not work with me at that point. On a holiday, hire more staff. We asked that the kids be fed right away, because they couldn't stay still anymore (chicken nuggets are not hard to get). I was fuming by that time. Not only had we been waiting for long, but I could tell that we were reaching the limit of Zoey's patience. I knew I wouldn't be able to enjoy my dinner anymore because I'd have to hold her/rock her/nurse her... you get the point. When I saw 2 tables who came in after us get their food, I snapped! I called over the waitress and asked to see the manager. Five minutes later, our food "magically" appeared. Weird coincidence, don't you think? We also got a discount on our meal. I may be extremely shy, but I do not take bullshit from anyone :)

Days are atrociously long these days. Zoey requires a lot of time and attention, obviously. It wasn't all that bad while Sean was home for his vacation. Him and Kira could play together and keep from getting bored. Now that he's back in school, however, Kira is bored out of her mind. She doesn't know what to do with herself, and I unfortunately don't have as much time for her as I wish I did. When Zoey will let me, I'll play will Kira (instead of housework; kids always come first!), but those moments are few and far between. Ah, guilt. Guilt, guilt, guilt, the bane of my existence!

Anyhoo, because Keith was playing softball tonight (his team lost the championship *sad*) I was alone with the kids for dinner. If you know me, you know I don't cook (I could if I tried, I simply despise cooking!) so I made something easy that I knew we would all enjoy: a cheese omelet. I had to keep Zoey busy while I was making it, so I put her in her Bumbo seat (she loves it, thanks Erin!) and gave her a cold carrot to gum on :)

The day started with Zoey falling off the bed... She was in my bed and I guess she rolled over. Well, I think it's more that she "crawled" when she woke up and pushed the stuff I had surrounded her with. Anyway, she was fine, she just got scared!

I'm more than a month behind posting my pics, and I don't have the time (now the will, to be honest with you!) to catch up, so I'm starting fresh today.

Today was Sean's first day of second grade! I'm Mommy to a second grader! He's wearing a map around his neck that was sent to him during the summer so that he could "hunt" for his teacher. He seemed happy to go to school, and when he saw that I was disappointed that there is only one kid from last year's class in his class, he said: "It's okay Mommy, I'll find someone I like!" My sweet, sweet boy!

The day started with Keith helping out the kids to pick up in their playroom. There was just too much stuff, they needed to give away a lot. I cleaned up in my scrap corner while they did that. It's so satisfying to have everything in its place (well, almost everytihng; Keith still needs to paint the walls, so soe things can't be put away yet!)

After lunch Bella and her sons, Brady and Charlie, came by to spend the afternoon. We talked a lot, went in the pool, and the kids loved every single moment! They stayed for dinner; we made hamburgers on our new BBQ ;)

Today, we decided to bring the kids to see Cars 2 at the movies. Yes, we brought Zoey. We figured one of us could go out in the hallway if she got fussy. We found seats where we could easily get in and out without bothering anyone. As soon as the movie started, Zoey was mesmerized by the screen! She watched for a good 15-20 minutes before falling asleep for an hour or so. Then she nursed, was content for a while and started getting fussy only about 20 minutes before the end. I went somewhere where I could walk with her without bothering anyone while still being able to see the movie. When I was walking with her, she didn't make a peep. All in all, she was very calm! The kids really liked the movie, and so did we, actually!

When we got back home, Keith decided to find the hole in our pool once and for all. We were losing water and had to add some about every 2 days so it wouldn't get too low. Armed with goggles and patience, he went around the pool. He finally found a dime-size hole right under the stairs that go in the water. He patched it and it worked great, no more leaks!

The day started with a trip to the clinic with Zoey for her follow-up. Breastfeeding is still painful, but getting better. When I got home, Keith was putting our new BBQ together. Isn't it funny how they say it should take approximately 50 minutes to put together, yet you're still at it 3 hours later? Well, okay, maybe not funny per se... :)

Then we went to get Keith and Sean's hair cut, they both needed it so badly! I have no idea why Sean was pulling out his tongue :)

I ended the day with some scrapbooking over at my friend Erin's place. JJ was there as well. I miss seeing them so much, I'm so glad we got together!

Keith let me sleep in late this morning, which is always great! Then we took out the Exersaucer for the first time. Zoey wasn't so sure about it, as you can see :)

Keith then went to get a new BBQ. Our old one died on us last week (no surprise there, we'd been expecting it since we first took it out this season). We didn't put it together today, we went swimming instead. Then Joe called and stole my husband away for the evening, they went to see the Alouettes play. Football widow once again...

Today was Keith's first official vacation day, yay! He went to his softball game (they tied) and then called me up and said: "I have good news and bad news. The good news: I'm bringing Martini's pizza for lunch. The bad news: I'm also bringing some of the guys home." Heck, for Martini's, I'd invite anyone over! When we lived in our apartment before we had kids, we ordered their pizza on a regular basis. Might explain our round shape ;) They make the best pizza. Our favorite is with black olives and bacon. The bacon is actual strips of bacon, none of those little bits I see on *other* pizzas! and the black olives? Not from a can! Real kalamata olives! Soooooooo good!

After the guys left, we went in the pool, did a bit of grocery shopping, and then took it easy. Keith went to bed early, and Zoey actually fell asleep early, so I was able to scrap! Make sure to check out my Life and Tribulations blog, I'll post the layout soon.

This last week was such as difficult one. Keith lost his dad following a broken hip, mild heart attack, and water on the lungs. Today, Keith went to work to close up everything; as of 5:30pm, he is on vacation. Totally deserved. When he got home, we went in the pool to beat the heat. Zoey loved cooling off!

Keith was running a bit late this morning, so he got to talk with Sean a bit. When I came down Keith said: "Did you know that the school is giving a concert today?" Um, no. For some reason, I didn't get the memo and Sean is just too darn quiet about these things (it's not like I don't try to get him to talk, he just doesn't have much to say ;)

So I found out when it was happening, Keith took the afternoon off, and we surprised Sean! He was thrilled to see all of us! We were also surprised to see that he had the honor of being the one to hit the cymbals, or whatever those things are called. He was so cute, you could see a little intake of breath before every "ring"!

Sean has a really nice bus driver, I really like her. She's kind and always greets Sean with a smile. A few months ago, she gave Kira a stuffed animal, just because she felt like it. Kira always comes to the bus stop with us, of course, and the driver always says hello to her. She says that when she saw that plush, she thought of Kira. Then yesterday, she gave me a gift for Zoey! There are such kind people in this world. She gave her 2 onesies and a "Welcome to the World" card. Here, Zoey is wearing one of the onesies. She is swinging in the swing that Noémi lent us :)

I received my SunBaby diapers yesterday. I prepped them and today was the first time we used them. Zoey's wearing the Hello Kitty print and Kira wanted to show off the birds ;)

PS I am writing this a month later and I need to tell any cloth diapering mamas out there that these diapers are awesome! They are my favorite, the only ones I trust for night-time and, at 5$ each only, a real steal!

Today was Zoey's first time in the pool. Actually, only her feet and calves made it in the water. You see, the water is simply not heating up this year. It can't seem to go higher than 77-78. Even I find that cold, it was my first time in this year! We stayed for a couple of minutes and then got out! At least, Zoey got to wear her ruffled-bottom bathing suit given to her by my friend Bella. It comes with a top, but the decision to put her in the pool was last minute,so just the bottom it was!

Today was a really, really hot day. JJ, Noemi and I got together and went to Chapters to cool off. Kira and Zoey were with me, Rhys was with JJ, and Noemi had Simeon with her. Rhys and Kira had fun in the play area. Then we went to Fairview, had lunch and bought some clothes for the kids at Children's Place.

Keith had to work late today, but did manage to come home just before the kids went to bed. They snuck in a swim :)

I went to see Kung Fu Panda 2 with Sean today (Keith went with Kira last week). We had a good time together, I love going on a date with my Mister Man! The movie was so-so, but we enjoyed it anyway. I couldn't find a poster of Kung Fu Panda to take a pic in front of, so we did silly faces in front of a huge cardboard cut-out for Cars 2 ;)

A bit after I took this pic, I got dressed and we headed to see a doc about Zoey's tongue. Yup, breastfeeding problems are not over. She referred me to the hospital, where they'll need to clip even more of the skin underneath her tongue. They did what they could in the clinic, but there's too much risk of infection for the rest (she has a weird shaped "under-tongue" apparently, very bulbous...)

I spent the evening alone because Keith played softball.

I went shopping with my 2 girls today because Kira needed sandals and Sean needed a bathing suit. We found a Spider-man bathing suit for Sean. Kira was happy I let her choose his bathing suit (I gave her the choice between the blue and the red; she chose the blue, I would've chosen the red... oh well!) While we were at L'Aubainerie, we also found this cute Hello Kitty set (we're on a Hello Kitty kick in this house!) We then went to Wal-Mart and Payless to find her some sandals, which was no easy feat! Let's just say Kira has her own idea about what she likes. She kept saying "These are too flowery, these are too glittery, these are too wobbly, etc." She ended up with white sandals with Disney Princesses on them... At some point, I was just glad we found a pair, lol!

Today was a beautiful day and we headed to the playground. I was amazed by how much bigger Kira looked this year! From day to day, I can't see how much she's growing because I see her all the time. But when I saw her at the park, it really hit me because she was doing things I hadn't seen her do since last year. She's so big, my sweet!

It was Zoey's first trip to the playground and she, well, slept the whole time lol!

Today was the day! After days and days of Kira begging us to go in the pool, it was finally warm enough today. The water wasn't very warm, but at least the temp outside justified getting wet. Not that I went in, I'm a wuss when it comes to cold water, lol! Plus, I had to stay with Zoey. Still too cold for that little one.

The kids had a blast! Sean was scared the first time he had to jump, but then he was fine. He jumped last year, but now he had a case of the nerves :) Everything was back to normal in 2 minutes flat!

Sean was invited to go to Amelie's house and Kira was really disappointed that she couldn't go too. She's not used to Sean doing things without her and she felt left out. I know that she has to learn that Sean has his own friends, but it was still sad to see her face when she realized she wasn't going too!

Keith decided to bring her to see a movie. They went to see Kung Fu Panda and Kira was happy to say she got a slush! I didn't give him the camera, so I have a pic of her afterwards, stylin' while bikin'!

I went to IKEA today with JJ and Noémi (+ non-school-age kids!) Kira asked to play in the play area where they can stay for 45 minutes. It's nice for the kids, but 45 minutes is not long at IKEA and I had to do a loooong walk to go get her when her time was up and then get back to the girls...

I took a quick picture when I came to pick her up. I didn't know how they'd feel about me taking pictures, so I did it quickly and through the glass.

Today's a holiday, so Keith was off work. He also had a softball game, like every holiday. We decided to all go see him play. We grabbed some Tim Horton's muffins and coffee on our way there. The coffee was horrible! I was bummed about it because I *really* needed my coffee. If you think the kids look tired on this pic, I was twice as bad, lol! Zoey slept a long time in the stroller, then she nursed and fell asleep on my shoulder. Keith's team won, yeah!

Today was all about purchasing new appliances! After much research, we decided to go with a front-loading washer/dryer combo by LG. We are lucky, we found them at Brick at a great sale price, and the 2 pedestals included. Here are the kids in the store while we were settling everything. It'll be nice to have a washer that doesn't stain our clothes (yup, the old one did that!) and a dryer that takes less than 2 hours to dry. I can't wait to hear how quiet they are also! And there's the option of adding extra water, so I'll be fine with the diapers! ;)

We then went to Corbeil Electrique because we had seen a Baush dishwasher on sale. After even more looking around, we decided to go for it! They are delivering it tomorrow, even though it's a holiday. Cool! I do not want to wash another utensil by hand again! :P

Today was a nice, sunny day and we did a lot of things outside. After so many days of rain, Keith was finally able to cut the grass. It looked like a jungle out there! While the kids were out in the front playing with our neighbour Hassan, Amelie and her mom came by to see if Sean wanted to go and get a slush with them! I had Zoey in my arms when they came back, but I managed to snap a pic, albeit not a very good one!

We ended our time outside with hamburgers on the bbq. Zoey slept in the wrap the whole time!

I have an open document on my laptop where I'm supposed to write down a short blurb of what we did each day. Since I don't post here every day, it would help me remember. However, most of the time I forget to write in it!!

Zoey, Sean and I had an appointment at the doctor's today. For me, it was to see if everything was back to normal after having a baby. For Sean, it was his annual check up. For Zoey, it was a check-up and vaccination! It all went very well, pretty much as expected. I thought it might be in bad taste to take a pic while Zoey was getting her shots, so instead I took her picture while we were in the waiting room, on the changing table. I'm sure Caro recognized the pattern behind her :)

I went to Old Navy yesterday to find a Hello Kitty swimsuit for Kira. They didn't have the one I had seen online anymore (it was sold out online too), but I found another one that made her day! I also decided to get Canada Day t-shirts for the whole family. Every year I see the pics that my pal JJ takes on Canada Day with those t-shirts and I always promise myself I'll do it too. This year's the year! Sean and Keith both have the standard Old Navy Canada Day t-shirt with the year. Kira and I have a Hello Kitty t-shirt (hers with a flag, me with a heart) and Zoey has a onesie that says: "My first Canada Day!" Love them all!

Anyway, I showed Kira all of this this morning and she was thrilled! I found that green Hello Kitty onesie yesterday too in the liquidation section for only 4$!! Kira decided what they were both going to wear and then asked me to take pictures. I love this one!

He he, it was bound to happen, right? Kira decided it was time to play dress-up with Zoey. Tulle cuffs, crepe paper for a hat and a dress, and a boutonniere. Zoey didn't say a word the whole time!!!

I went to see the doc again, since the pain in my breasts is not getting better. I told her my heart and my head don't want to stop breastfeeding, but that my body is about to give up on me. She gave me anti-inflammatories, I really hope it works!

Today was all about Sean. We were celebrating his seventh birthday! We figured he was big enough now to invite whoever he wanted instead of us imposing the guests on him. We offered to bring him to the movies with a few of his friends. Meanwhile, my mom stayed at home with Zoey. I guess that's one positive about her taking the bottle once in a while.

Rio was playing at the theater, so we saw that with Melissa and Amelie, Sean's girlfriend. Amelie's mom brought her over at the theater and said: "Amelie didn't sleep last night, she was so excited!" Apparently, she keeps telling her mom that Sean is gorgeous!! The kids each had a combo of juice, popcorn and a Kinder egg, so they were happy! They were really good during the movie, stayed quiet most of the time.

We then drove back home (thank goodness for a 7-seater!) and yes, we had booster seats/car seats for everyone! The kids played for a bit and then Sean opened his presents: a Transformer from Amelie, Lego Atlantis from Melissa, Dahrak Colossus (a Bakugan) and a Lego Minotaur game from us.

Then it was time for the cake. Sean had been very specific about what he wanted: a chocolate cake with a Star Wars toy and the Canadiens' logo on it. The closest we managed was this, but he loved it!

Yes, it's one of ugliest cakes ever, but he was thrilled!

It's official, my baby/big boy turned 7 today. Seven!! We are going to be celebrating tomorrow, because today we attended Melissa's First Communion (she is Joe's daughter, Joe is Keith's best friend).

After church, we had a wonderful time at the restaurant. Lots of food, lots of laughs and lots of noise coming from all the kids that were there, lol! Luckily, we had the whole place to ourselves. It's a small Italian restaurant, the same one where Keith and I had our wedding reception.

Before they came out with the First Communion cake, they actually came out with a birthday cake for Sean and the whole room sang for him! I had no idea it was going to happen, I thought it was really sweet!

In the picture you see Kira, Melissa and her little brother Gabriel and Sean. Sean. Sean who did NOT wear what we had laid out for him. He put on ugly corduroy pants that are too big for him and a blah shirt that is too small. We were in such a hurry before we left home, and because he didn't take his coat off in the church, we didn't notice until we were at the restaurant...

Sean is turning 7 tomorrow (!!!) so Kira, Zoey and I went to his school and brought donuts for the whole class. Sean was so excited, he was beaming when we were all singing "Bonne Fete!" to him! Amelie, Sean's girlfriend, wasn't there, so Kira got to sit at her desk. A little boy came up to me and said: "Amelie is in love with Sean!" and then another boy added: " She's really in love with Sean! They kissed on the lips!"

In the evening, while Keith played softball, I headed to my brother's place with the kids. We were invited to celebrate Sean's birthday. While there, Kira managed to get a huge bump on her head and cried for a while, but everything was fine. We had brownies in lieu of a cake, yum! I prefer brownies to cake, so I had to restrain myself and eat only 2 pieces!

I received a package of DIY Bath Fizzies from Kiss Naturals (yes, for another review!) and it took everything to rein in Kira! She was so exited, lol! I told her we needed to wait until Sean and Daddy came home. Sean so that he could participate; Keith so that he could take care of Zoey. We had a great time making these and they sure smell good! I can't wait to see how well they work in the bath!

Today was a pretty lazy day. Kira spent a lot of time in our driveway drawing with chalk. Sean, our neighbour Hassan and Kira had started yesterday, and she just kept on going. You can't see it here, but she drew a bed and is lying down on it :)

Here's Kira in the Pediatric Clinic where I was meeting the doc, yet again, for Zoey's reflux and my breast pain.

Zoey's meds' dosage has been doubled (she takes Prevacid) because the doc saw firsthand how bad Zoey's reflux is when she stayed with her while I took Kira to the bathroom. Hopefully it'll help her!

As for me, it's obvious that my problem is not an infection, whether it be fungal or bacterial... The doc says my milk ducts are probably inflamed and Zoey doesn't help me much with her latch-on problems. So we are trying out a nipple shield. We'll see.

Zoey wanted to be held and wanted me to walk around, so I figured I'd walk to my voting poll instead of back and forth in my living room :) I put her in a wrap, gave Kira an umbrella and off we went. As we were walking, Kira asked me what we were doing. I said I was going to vote, which means I choose who I want to be the leader of our country. When we got to the school where I was voting, it went really quickly, nobody was there at that time (around 11AM). Kira came in the booth with me, I voted and we left.

When Keith came home in the evening, we all went again so he could vote. Sean and Kira went in with him while I waited outside with Zoey. When they came back out, Kira said: "Mommy, Daddy voted for the same leader!" LOL! Good to know we didn't cancel each other's vote (we never tell each other who we're voting for so as to not influence/get influenced).

After one too many tears of pain, I gave in and gave Zoey a bottle. I'm not switching over completely (at least not for now), but sometimes I just need a break. When your breasts feel like someone is taking a knife to them, you deserve a break! I know it might be hard to understand, but breastfeeding is really important to me. Really important. If I give it up, even if it is completely justified, it'll be a sort of mourning for me. It's not just a take it or leave it type of thing. I need to try a bit more before I make a final decision...

Kira did enjoy feeding Zoey :)

Today was another day off for Sean for the Easter holidays. We took it easy. Sean and Kira disappeared in the basement for about an hour, I could tell they were doing a project and wanted to surprise me. Once in a while, I'd ask if they were fine but other than that, I let them be so as to not ruin their surprise. When they finally came back up, they were dressed like pirates. They had made everything with paper and markers: a map, eye-patches, earrings, peg leg, hook for a hand and even a parrot (you can see a bit of it on the left of the picture)! Amazing how kids can use their imagination!

After someone suggested we bring Zoey to see an osteopath to help with her reflux, we went today. It was quite an experience to see. It didn't seem like much was happening, but you could tell something was happening! Hard to explain. She told us her liver was engorged and then fixed that. Zoey only pooped every 3-4 days, although she didn't seem bothered by it.

Since I'm writing this 2 weeks later, I can tell you it didn't work for her reflux, but it definitely helped with the poop, she's a lot more regular, lol!

As I'm sure most kids were, Kira and Sean were up early! We asked them to wait half-an-hour so that we could sleep a bit more and believe it or not, they did! They even gave us an hour! But then it was just too much for them, they wanted to hunt for eggs! The Easter Bunny was very reasonable this year; only a few chocolates. He did bring the kids those giant Kinder Eggs that they really wanted!

We then went to visit Keith's dad and ended the day with dinner at my brother's. Poor Sean had a sore throat, but didn't say anything until we got back home, when he burst into tears! That boy simply does not complain!

Another busy day today. While my mom stayed home with Kira (and Sean was in school), Zoey and I went to the Kia dealership for the car's annual check-up. We also needed to change our winter tires for summer ones. I knew it would take a few hours, but there were a ton of people there and it ended up taking 4 hours! Zoey stayed asleep for the first 45 minutes or so, but then she wanted to breastfeed. I nursed her, but then she started crying because of her reflux. The medication helps with the spit-ups a bit, but not with the pain. Luckily, one guy who works there told me I could go in the lunch room to get more comfortable than on the hard chairs in the waiting room. We were able to get more comfortable, but I was still exhausted after 4 hours!

Once we left, I picked up my mom and Kira and we paid a visit to my aunt Claudette. She is my father's sister and I don't see her nearly enough. I do get news regularly because my mom sees her pretty much every week. She was thrilled to get to hold Zoey!

Afterwards, I dropped off my mom at her place, went to Sean's school to pick him up and then picked up Keith at work. I was exhausted by the time we got back home!

This sweet, sleepy little girl went through a lot today. Once again, we went to the doc's to see if there was anything we can do to help with breastfeeding. Zoey finally drinks well (in fact, at 9lbs 6oz, she is 1oz away from having put on a whole pound in 4 days!!), but my nipples are still extremely sore even though she latches on pretty well. We are trying to find a way to fix that b/c it's getting too much for me. Not only does it hurt when I nurse, it hurts all the time. My bra hurts, my clothes hurt, the bed covers when they rub, Zoey's little hands when they grab me by accident.

Zoey is tongue-tied, but her frenulum is super thick instead of slim. That means they were able to snip it a bit today, which helped slightly, but she might need to go to the hospital to get it fixed completely because it couldn't be done in the clinic. She cried for a second, but mostly because she didn't like having someone hold her tongue!

We are also going to start with Prevacid, because she has really bad acid reflux. She spits up constantly and looks like she in pain. I'm also more careful about what I eat.

A soon as she woke up, Kira asked to try out her new roller skates. When we were all ready, we went outside and did just that. She was so proud of her skates and all her pink gear! Sean was in-line skating and he's becoming more and more independent, he's not as scared to fall anymore :)

We went to Play It Again Sports to find some in-line skates for Kira. You can sometimes find used ones there that are still in good condition. That way, you don't have to pay full price. Sean has some skates, so Kira wanted some too. Unfortunately, they didn't have any her size. We decided to try Wal-Mart and we found some pink-and-purple roller skates. We now have a very happy little girl! Too bad it was raining today, she didn't get to try them out...

Okay, first off, how come my pics appear blurry and/or grainy on Blogger suddenly? It's been like that for a few posts now, ugh!

Second, I have no idea how Anne Geddes does it, photographing multiple babies at once, lol! No, seriously, this was just a quick picture I took with my point and shoot at Erin's. Like most Fridays, I went over to her place in the evening. I had a really tough day because of Zoey's reflux and the pain while nursing, so I considered staying home. Instead, I went over there but didn't bring my scrap stuff; all I wanted was the company of my friends. Vanessa, Erin's friend and neighbour, came by with her little one, Emilie. Vanessa was due one day later than I was, which means March 14th. I ended up giving birth early (on the 6th) while she had Emilie 10 days late, on the 24th! So Zoey's almost 6 weeks here and Emilie is 3 weeks old. As you can see, Emilie is bigger than Zoey, lol! Zoey was 7lbs2oz at birth, Emilie was 9lbs1oz!

Today, I went to see the nurse, again, for my fungal infection in my breasts. I'm in so much pain, we decided that I am going to start taking antibiotics. A doctor prescribed them to me last week, but it can irritate the liver (only temporarily, nothing permanent) and it is very costly, so we decided to see if creams would take care of the problem. It didn't, so I'm starting the pills. Luckily, our insurance will cover most of it, so it's not so bad.

We are one of those rare families who still has only one car, so I go pick up Keith at work on the days I keep the car. Because he works in a glass shop, the boss decided to dedicate a corner for the kids so they wouldn't run into a glass wall or something, lol! They have a table with a few toys and coloring books, and they have those Crayola crayons that can write on mirrors and glass. As you can see, they take full advantage of it! They each had a Ring Pop today, which explains the blue tongues ;)

A year ago, I ordered a hand-stamped necklace from an Etsy shop. It had Keith's name, Sean's and Kira's. Then I became pregnant with Zoey. I was going to have the woman at the shop add an extra name to it. But a few months ago, I won a gift code for The Vintage Pearl. I had been eying the Eclectic Necklace for a long time and I knew that's what I would get! I waited until Baby was born to see what the 5th name would be and I ordered. I received it today and I am in awe of it! The quality is incredible, it's absolutely gorgeous! Kira keeps telling me she loves that her name is in the heart!

Today was such a nice day, it was great to go out in spring attire! Keith taught Sean how to in-line skate. He found it tricky, but he loved it! Even when he fell, he just got back up and tried again! Kira wants some skates of her own, so we'll go to Play It Again Sports, I hope we can find some good used ones for cheap.

We also went for a long walk. It was nice, Keith wore the wrap and carried Zoey the whole time. He got a lot of curious looks, people are not used to seeing this type of wrap around here!

My mom, brother and brother-in-law came by this evening for my birthday. Keith was wonderful, made a great meal! Fresh mozzarella with basil and tomatoes as an appetizer, fettuccine with clams, shrimps and scallops for dinner and 2 desserts: brownies with peanut butter and chocolate cake with moka icing. Everything was delicious!

I turned 35 today. The kids woke me up and wished me a happy birthday. When I came downstairs, Sean was dressed, had made his bed, had eaten breakfast and had brushed his teeth. Great birthday present, right? :)

Later on, I went to the CLSC with Zoey - again - to check up on her and on me too. Zoey put on 130g in 3 days, which is awesome! If she could just learn to stay latched on, it would all be good! Well, almost. My fungal infection is still going strong, which means nursing is still a painful process...

Day ended with a nice sushi dinner. Thanks sweetie!
